Local SEO · Map Pack & GBP
Be the business the map recommends.
Local SEO puts your business in front of people searching nearby with intent to buy — in the Google map pack, in “near me” results, and now in AI answers that recommend local businesses by name. It’s the highest-converting traffic most local businesses will ever get.
Why you are not in the map pack — and what we do about it
Three-quarters of the local businesses that come to us have the same problem, and it is almost never the one they think it is. They assume they need more content or more links. What they actually have is a Google Business Profile that Google does not trust enough to rank, sitting on top of business details that contradict each other across the web.
Google decides the map pack on relevance, distance and prominence. You cannot move your office, so the work is entirely in the other two — and both are things we do for you rather than advise you about.
| What is holding you back | What we do about it |
|---|---|
| Profile categories are wrong or incomplete | We rebuild the profile against the categories your competitors in the pack actually use |
| Name, address or phone differs across directories | We audit every listing, fix the conflicts and remove duplicates |
| Too few recent reviews | We install a review routine your front desk can actually run, and respond to every review |
| No content that mentions the areas you serve | We write genuine location pages, not city-name templates |
| No local schema | We add LocalBusiness markup so machines can read your address, hours and services |
| Invisible in AI answers | We structure your content so assistants recommending local businesses can quote you |
Our Delhi client had five of those six problems. Four months later the firm held top three in the map pack for eight keywords and profile views had gone from 140 a month to 890. That case study is published with the numbers.
Quick self-check: is your local presence leaking customers?
- You rank for your own business name but nothing else
- Your Google Business Profile has fewer than 25 reviews, or none in the last three months
- Your address or phone number appears differently on Justdial, your website and Google
- You have no page for any of the areas you actually serve
- You have never checked what ChatGPT says when someone asks for a business like yours
- Competitors with worse service outrank you on Maps
Three or more of these and your local visibility is losing you enquiries every week. The free audit tells you exactly which ones apply to you — and what each is costing.

We check your map pack position across your service area, your review gap against the businesses above you, and the citation conflicts splitting your authority. You get the findings in 48 hours whether or not you hire us.
What’s included
Everything your local presence needs.
Google Business Profile
Complete optimisation: categories, services, photos, posts, and Q&A. Your GBP is often the first — and only — thing a local searcher sees.
Review strategy
A steady, ethical flow of genuine reviews, plus responses that show future customers someone is home. Reviews are a top-three local ranking factor.
Local citations
Consistent name, address, and phone across every directory that matters in your market — inconsistencies quietly hurt rankings and confuse AI assistants.
Location pages
Properly written pages for your service areas — unique, useful, and specific. Never the thin templated city pages that get sites penalised.
Local content
Content that answers what locals actually ask, in their words — the raw material for map rankings and AI recommendations alike.
Call & lead tracking
Know which calls, directions, and form fills came from local search, so the report shows customers — not just positions.
Your Google Business Profile, rebuilt properly
The profile carries roughly a third of local ranking weight, and it is the one asset most businesses have never had set up correctly. We do not send you a checklist for this. We do it.
What we change in the first month
- Categories — primary and secondary, chosen from what actually ranks in your pack, not what sounds right
- Services and descriptions — every service you offer listed with real descriptions, so you match more searches
- Photos — geo-tagged photos of your premises, team and work, added on a schedule rather than once
- Q&A — we seed and answer the questions customers actually ask, in 100 to 150 word answers AI systems can lift
- Hours, attributes and service areas — accurate, including holidays, because wrong hours quietly kill conversions
- Posts — a regular rhythm that signals an active business to Google
If your profile has been suspended, or you have duplicates you cannot remove, we handle the reinstatement and merge process too. It is fiddly, slow work that most agencies avoid.
Reviews: the part most agencies leave to you
Review count, recency and response rate together make up the single biggest controllable factor in local rankings — and the biggest driver of whether someone picks you once you rank. Sixty recent reviews will outperform two hundred collected three years ago.
We build the routine and run the response side ourselves:
- A request flow tied to the moment a job completes, sent by the channel your customers actually use
- Templates your team can send in seconds, in English or Hindi
- Owner responses to every review, written by us and approved by you
- A quiet process for handling unfair or fake reviews through Google’s reporting route
One warning we give every client: we will not buy reviews or write fake ones. It is the fastest way to get a profile suspended, and it is the reason some businesses come to us in the first place.
The local ranking factors that actually move the needle
Google’s local algorithm weighs three things: relevance (does your profile say what the searcher wants?), distance, and prominence (does the web corroborate that you are legitimate and liked?). You cannot move your office, so we work the other two hard. Relevance means precise categories, complete services, and content that names the neighbourhoods you serve. Prominence means review velocity and recency — not just count — plus citations that agree with each other, and links from local sources: news, associations, sponsorships, suppliers.
The most common local SEO failure we see is not missing tactics — it is contradiction. Three phone numbers across directories. An old address on Justdial. A category chosen in 2019. Google resolves contradictions by trusting you less, and AI assistants resolve them by recommending someone else.
Multiple locations, service areas and the cases in between
Local SEO gets structurally harder the moment you are not a single shop with a single door.
| Your situation | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| Storefront, one location | Single profile, deep optimisation, locality content around your catchment |
| Service-area business (you travel to customers) | Address hidden, service zones defined, genuine area pages for the zones you actually cover |
| Two to five locations | A profile and location page per branch, own reviews and photos, one consolidated report |
| Six or more, or franchise | Location hub architecture, duplicate-suppression, bulk profile management, per-branch reporting |
The mistake we clean up most often is a business with four branches and one page listing all four addresses. Google cannot rank that page for any of them properly, and customers cannot tell which branch is nearest.
Not sure which of these you are?
Tell us how many locations you have and where you actually serve, and we will map the right structure before you commit to anything.

| What we do | What you see | |
|---|---|---|
| Month 1 | Audit, GBP rebuild, citation cleanup begins, review routine installed | Baseline report and a fixed profile |
| Month 2 | Citations completed, location pages written, local schema added | First map pack movement in most markets |
| Month 3 | Local content published, review flow maturing, AI answer structuring | Rankings across more keywords, more profile views |
| Months 4–6 | Competitor monitoring, content expansion, defending positions | Stable top-three positions in most local markets |
You get a report every month you can read in five minutes: what moved, what we did, what is next, and the calls and direction requests your profile generated.
Local SEO in India vs the USA
Indian local search leans heavily on Justdial, Sulekha and IndiaMart alongside Google — and WhatsApp is the conversion endpoint, so profiles and pages must make messaging effortless. US local search adds Yelp, BBB and industry-specific platforms (Avvo for lawyers, Healthgrades for doctors, Zillow for agents), and review litigation risk means response strategy matters more. Both markets share one truth: the map pack is winner-take-most, and position four might as well be page ten.
Proof — Kapil Chandna Law Firm
A Delhi criminal law practice was invisible in local search despite strong credentials. Systematic local SEO — GBP, reviews, citations, and location content — grew local search visibility by 520%, making the firm a fixture of the map pack for its practice areas.
What does local SEO cost?
Local SEO runs ₹15,000/month ($299) for a single-location Starter, ₹28,000/month ($549) for Growth, and ₹50,000/month ($999) for up to five locations — see the pricing page. It is meaningfully cheaper than full SEO because the battlefield is smaller: you are not fighting the whole internet, just the businesses within your service radius. For most local businesses it is also the fastest-payback marketing money they will spend, because map pack clicks convert at rates national SEO can only dream about.
Who this works for — and who should not buy it
Local SEO is the highest-return marketing most local businesses will ever buy. It is not right for everyone, and we would rather say so before you pay us.
Strong fit
- You serve customers within a defined area and they search before choosing
- A new customer is worth more than a few thousand rupees, or you keep them for years
- You can handle more enquiries than you get today
- Clinics, law firms, dentists, salons, gyms, home services, restaurants, showrooms, coworking spaces
Poor fit
- You sell nationally with no physical presence — you want organic SEO instead
- You are at capacity and cannot take more work
- You want guaranteed rankings in thirty days — nobody can honestly sell you that
- You are unwilling to ask customers for reviews, which is the one thing we cannot do without you
Questions
Everything clients ask before starting.
I serve customers at their location, not mine. Does local SEO still work?
Yes — service-area businesses have their own GBP setup and strategy. You can rank across your whole service area without showing your home address.
How fast does local SEO work compared to regular SEO?
Faster, usually. GBP optimisation and review velocity can move map pack rankings in 4–8 weeks. Competitive city-centre categories take longer, and we’ll tell you honestly which you’re in.
Can you manage multiple locations?
Yes — our Multi-Location plan covers up to 5 locations with per-location pages, profiles, and rankings in one consolidated report. More than 5, we price on request.
How many reviews do I need to rank in the map pack?
There is no magic number — you need more than the businesses currently in the pack, arriving at a steady rate, with real text and owner responses. In many Indian professional categories, 30 genuine reviews beats competitors; in dense US metros the bar can be 200+. We benchmark your actual pack and set the target from evidence.
Can you remove fake or unfair negative reviews?
Sometimes. Reviews violating Google’s policies (spam, conflicts of interest, off-topic rants) can be reported and often come down. Genuine bad reviews cannot be removed — but a professional response plus a steady flow of real positives buries them, and honestly, a 4.7 with responses converts better than a suspicious 5.0.
Do "near me" searches need special optimisation?
Not literally — you do not stuff "near me" into pages. Google resolves those from the searcher’s location and your profile signals. Winning them is the same work: complete GBP, consistent citations, reviews, and genuinely local content.
What if I do not want to show my address?
Service-area businesses can hide their address and define service zones instead — standard for trades, home services and consultants. Rankings concentrate around your actual base, which we plan around honestly rather than promising city-wide miracles.
Does local SEO help with AI assistants too?
Increasingly, yes. Ask ChatGPT for a lawyer or dentist in a city and it draws on map profiles, reviews and directory presence. Clean local signals are becoming AI recommendation signals — see LLM SEO.
